“Due to the gravity and seriousness of the allegations of my client in his sworn statements implicating top politicians, police officials and other notable individuals, I fear that I will suffer the same fate with Atty. Bato,” Atty. Leilani Trinidad Villarino said in a letter to Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa coursed through the Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption. Villarino also cited in her letter that Espinosa’s former lawyer, Atty. Rogelio Bato Jr., was ambushed last August.
