Fire guts Cavite home, stalls while owner visits cemetery
SAN PEDRO CITY, Laguna—A two-hour fire believed to have been started by faulty wiring gutted a two-story house and five commercial stalls in Imus City in Cavite province on Tuesday night, investigators on Wednesday said.
Fire Officer 3 Ronaldo Bacareza, in a telephone interview, said the fire started at 7:35 p.m. on the second floor of the house in Barangay (village) Medicion IA.
He said the owner, Alex Camma, was in the cemetery visiting the graves of relatives when the fire broke out.
The fire gutted five commercial stalls in the compound. He said the stalls were closed at the time since it was All Saints’ Day, a holiday.
Bacareza said the fire destroyed properties worth P500,000.
In Batangas province, another fire gutted a house in Sto. Tomas town at 8 p.m. on Tuesday.

No one was hurt in the incidents in Imus and Sto. Tomas, police reports said.
