8 soldiers wounded in Abu Sayyaf encounter

ZAMBOANGA CITY – Eight soldiers were wounded in an encounter with the Abu Sayyaf bandits in Patikul, Sulu on Sunday noon.

The Philippine Army said fighting continued as of this posting.

There were no reports if there were wounded among the bandits, who numbered about 100. JE/rga
