1 soldier killed, 3 wounded in clash with Abu Sayyaf in Basilan
One soldier was killed while three others were wounded in clashes with the Abu Sayyaf Group in Basilan on Tuesday morning, the military said.
Western Mindanao Command spokesperson Major Filemon Tan said the encounter transpired in Barangay (village) Dugaa in Tuburan town around 10 a .m.
“Abu Sayyaf casualties are yet to be determined,” he said.
The military is conducting all-out military offensive in the province to flush out the terrorists responsible for several attacks and kidnappings.
Troops from the 3rd Air Division of the Philippine Air Force were directed to provide air ambulance to evacuate casualties, while naval troops will conduct blockade in Tuburan, Basilan, Tan said. RAM
