Mechanic survives gun attack in Baguio

BAGUIO CITY — A mechanic listed in the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) drug watch list survived an attempt on his life on Tuesday (Oct. 25).

July Manarang, 32, was shot by an unidentified gunman at Joey’s Machine Shop along Bokawkan Road, according to a police report.

Fellow mechanics there said they heard 3 shots fired before they saw the wounded Manarang running toward the back of the shop. Manarang was rushed to the Pines City Doctor’s Hospital where he is being treated for gunshot injuries.

Forensic investigators said they failed to recover spent bullet shells at the crime scene. CDG
