VIRAC, Catanduanes – Authorities have launched search and rescue operations to find three fishermen who went missing in Viga town in Catanduanes Saturday night, the Catanduanes Provincial Disaster Risk
Reduction Management Council said in a report.

The report said personnel from Viga police have been conducting the search for Zaldy De Jesus and Luis Tupig of Barangay (village) Buenavista and Rene del Valle of Barangay Tambongon, Viga town.

Meanwhile, the unidentified body found at the shoreline of Barangay Pananaogan in Bato Saturday morning turned out to be that of Rene Magtangob, 38, of Barangay Tigbao in Virac who was the same person reported missing earlier after trying to cross the flooded Inagasan Creek. He apparently drowned and was carried kilometers away across Cabugao Bay as rains brought by tropical storm “Karen” poured over Bicol Saturday night.  SFM
