More than 70 young students from 8 schools in Metro Manila and nearby provinces learned about the basics of storytelling in a workshop held at the Inquirer main office in Makati on Saturday.
Trainors were Ann Abacan and teachers from Sophia School, who led the module on book-based reading, knowledge, delivery and body language, and Dyali Justo of Adarna House, who taught the kids how to use eye contact and facial expressions, as well as voice, volume, poise and pacing in effective storytelling.
The workshop is the opening activity of this year’s Inquirer Read-Along Festival, which will be held at the Inquirer main office on Nov. 11 and 12. With the theme, “#MyInquirer Read-Along Festival: Love for reading anytime, anywhere, always,” a highlight of the Festival will be the 6th Festival Storytelling Competition, among others.
The elimination round is set on Oct. 22, while the semi-finals are on Oct. 29. Finals will be on Day 2 of the Festival on Nov. 12. The winner will be crowned
