DAGUPAN CITY, Pangasinan — The president of the Liga ng mga Barangay (Liga) in Pangasinan’s San Quintin town was gunned down on Saturday (Oct. 1).
Ruel Ferreria, barangay captain of Calomboyan village, was shot in the head by a motorycle-riding gunman at 11:15 a.m.
As Liga president, Ferreria sits in the town council.
He was supervising the cutting of an acacia tree along the road fronting his family’s ancestral house in Barangay (village) Cabalaoangan when he was attacked.
He was taken to a nearby hospital but doctors there declared him dead on arrival. CDG
