CEBU CITY—A two-month-old baby and a three-year-old boy were killed in a fire which hit a residential area in Sitio (village) Hillside in Barangay (village) Talamban in Cebu City shortly before noon on Wednesday.
Firefighters recovered the charred bodies of Bryle Cedric, 2 months, and Terrence John, 3, from the debris of what used to be their two-storey house that was made of concrete and light materials.
Fire investigators said the boys were left sleeping inside the room on the second floor while their grandmother went out to fetch their older sibling at the nearby elementary school.
Their mother Kimberly Llorag was working when the fire broke.
The fire broke out at 11:58 a.m. in the house of a certain Matia Llorag. The fire spread to 20 houses which were partly made of concrete and light materials.
Cebu City Fire Marshal Rogelio Bongabong said they had yet to determine the cause of the fire that was raised to Task Force Alpha. RAM
