Ex-Davao lawmaker to face new raps over PDAF
The Office of the Ombudsman has ordered the filing of a new round of graft and malversation charges against former Davao del Sur Rep. Marc Douglas Cagas IV in connection with the pork barrel scam.
Cagas used P6 million of his Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) allocations for alleged ghost projects in 2008, the Ombudsman said.
However, the Ombudsman found the documents submitted by the partner non-government organization Farmerbusiness Development Corp. to be fabricated. On-site field verification also showed that the training kits never reached their beneficiaries, it said.
Also facing charges are project consultants Vanie Semillano, Antonio Ortiz, Dennis Cunanan, Maria Rosalinda Lacsamana, Marivic Jover, Consuelo Lilian Espiritu, Johanne Edward Labay, Arnolfo Reyes and Aileen Carrasco.
