3 killed by gunmen in Caloocan ambush
Three people were killed in an ambush in Camarin, Caloocan on Friday morning, Radyo Inquirer 990AM said.
The radio report said two men and a woman were onboard a Nissan Frontier Navara (with plate number NUI 501) and passing through Pili Street, Brgy. (village) 178 in Camarin when unidentified gunmen started shooting at their vehicle.
The incident happened at around 3:30 a.m. The bodies of the victims were immediately brought to the morgue.
Witnesses said the suspects were riding a motorcycle but took cover during the attack.
The police said there were no firearms in the vehicle but the witnesses said they saw the victims shooting back.
Article continues after this advertisementOne witness said he heard around 40 shots. Photos of the vehicle showed shattered windows and bloodied seats.
Article continues after this advertisementPO3 Ryan Rodriguez said they also did not find any identification card in the vehicle. They only found a cellphone and a wallet with P50 inside it.
They have yet to determine the motive for the attack.
Radyo Inquirer 990AM reported earlier a separate shooting incident in Camarin, which left a certain Restituto Romero dead.
Witnesses said around 10:20 p.m. on Thursday, Romero was seen walking back to his house after buying cigarettes when two men on a motorcycle shot him. They heard three gunshots.
Romero’s relatives did not say if he had enemies or if he was involved in drugs. KS/CDG/rga
