Pasay ambush leaves 2 dead, 2 wounded
Motorcycle-riding gunmen opened fire on a vehicle carrying members of a Filipino-Chinese household as it traversed Macapagal Avenue, Pasay City, on Tuesday night, killing two of the four people inside.
The attack resulted in the death of the family driver Mark Niel Alesasis and househelp Adelfa Dava.
The two other passengers—20-year-old Kate Monica Hong and her 5-year-old female cousin—were wounded.
Alesasis, who also served as a bodyguard, was driving his employers’ black Mercedes Benz when they were ambushed around 9:50 p.m. The group had just had dinner at Huey Ying restaurant, Seaside Market, along Macapagal, the police said.
Alesasis was hit in the left temple. Dava, 22, died in the hospital also from a gunshot wound.
Chief Insp. Rolando Baula, chief of the Pasay police investigation, said the attack may be related to a business dispute involving the family.
