Municipal administrator killed in Isabela

JONES, Isabela – This town’s municipal administrator was shot dead on Thursday (Aug. 25) by an unidentified gunman in Barangay (village) Uno here, police said.

Noimi Guerrero, 55, was attacked as he emerged from his rented house. The gunman and an accomplice fled in a motorcycle.

Guerrero was declared dead on arrival at a hospital.

Guerrero was a nephew of incumbent Mayor Leticia Sebastian.

Jones had been dealing with violence since the elections.

On May 7, three people were killed and two others were hurt when 15 armed men attacked the sister of a mayoralty bet and other supporters who were then on their way to a campaign sortie.

On April 13,  Vice Mayor Ronaldo Lucas was killed by alleged New People’s Army rebels.

A day after, San Isidro candidate Heinrich Apostol was murdered.

Last year, then Vice Mayor Florante Raspado and Anthony Agarin were shot dead inside the town hall. CDG
