Ex-village chief nabbed in Davao drug buy-bust
DIGOS CITY, Philippines – The former village chair of San Isidro in Hagonoy, Davao del Sur was arrested during a buy-bust operation here, police said Friday.
Supt. Demetrius Taypin, the city police chief, said Cepriano Daub, 56, married, and now a resident of Barangay (village) San Miguel here, did not resist arrest during the operation conducted in Barangay Zone 3 around 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
Taypin said seized from the suspect were three large sachets of suspected shabu, P8,000 in cash, various identification cards, a cellphone and other items.
Daub is temporarily locked up at a police holding cell and a complaint for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Anti-Illegal Drugs Act has been filed against him at the city prosecutor’s office./rga
