Cagayan village chair, 3 others nabbed for P150-M ‘shabu’
TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines—Four suspected drug dealers, among them a village official, were arrested after yielding P150 million worth of suspected shabu (metamphetamine hydrochloride) in a drug raid Thursday night on a beach in Cagayan’s Claveria town.
Acting on an informant’s tip, the police and agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) raided the El Dia Beach Resort and caught Centro 4 village chairman Victor Tumaneng, Edgardo Almazan, Alfredo Salbusa and Robert Cainguitan in possession of 30-kilos of the suspected narcotic.
PDEA said all four had been under surveillance, having been included on Cagayan’s watch list of drug suspects.
