Mandaluyong’s 2nd most wanted for murder nabbed in Caloocan
MANILA — Mandaluyong City’s second most wanted suspect tagged in the murder of his neighbor in 2011 was arrested in Tala, Caloocan City, by officers of Barangay 187 and members of the Mandaluyong police’s intelligence unit on Wednesday night.
Senior Superintendent Joaquin Alva, Mandaluyong City police chief, said construction worker Jojo Patenio, 26, was arrested around 10:30 p.m. at the house of his mother in Barangay 187 in Tala where he hid for five years.
The arrest was based on a pending warrant issued by Judge Esteban Tacla Jr., of the Caloocan Regional Trial Court Branch 208 for murder.
PO3 Ianna Morales, chief clerk of the city’s intelligence branch, said Patenio stabbed dead his neighbor, only known by the name Paul, after the latter accused him of being a murderer.
The intelligence unit held months of surveillance before the suspect’s arrest, Morales said.
