Pangasinan cops kill drug suspect, arrest 9 others

DAGUPAN CITY, Philippines—A suspected drug dealer was killed while nine others were arrested on Wednesday in separate anti-drug operations in Pangasinan province.

Jaime Tolentino, the second most wanted drug personality in Tayug town, was shot and killed early Wednesday morning in the town’s Carriedo village.

Police said Tolentino fired at policemen who had asked him to come out of the kitchen when they executed a search. Found in his house after the shootout was a .38 caliber pistol, five sachets containing suspected shabu, cash and other personal effects.

The other nine drug dealers were arrested in the towns of Bolinao, Manaoag, Lingayen and Asingan and in the cities of Alaminos and Urdaneta. RAM/rga
