Mayor: I’m no drug user

MANGALDAN, Pangasinan—Mayor Bona Fe Parayno on Monday took a drug test to show people she was not a drug addict, amid talks that President Duterte would soon make public a list of mayors with ties to the illegal drug trade.

Parayno denied she had any connection to the drug trade. Her supposed drug link was “a rumor being spread by my political enemy,” she said.

“I am not a drug user, I am not a drug pusher, I am not a drug lord. And I’d like to tell everybody that I’m clean and I would like my town to have a drug-free environment,” Parayno said.

She said she had asked the police to trace the owner of a Facebook account which had been posting that she was a drug lord and financier. Gabriel Cardinoza, Inquirer Northern Luzon
