“Change your ways,” Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II warned the “bad eggs” in the Department of Justice (DOJ) and its attached agencies.
In a speech after attending the first Friday Mass, Aguirre said he received information that there are people in the DOJ and its agencies who have “gone astray.”
“Alam kong marami dito [DOJ] ay mabuting kagawad ngunit may ilang naliligaw. Sana po sa mga nalilihis sa atin na sa DOJ at attached agencies ay tulungan nating bigyan ng liwanag upang sila ay magbago (I know that there are many here in the DOJ who are good councilors, but some have gone astray. I hope that we could help those who have lost their way in the DOJ and its attached agencies and shed light upon them to help them change) ,” Aguirre said.

However, he said no one has come forward just yet with documentary or, at the very least, testimonial evidence.
Aguirre said he will not order the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to conduct an investigation.
Aside from graft and corruption, Aguirre said President Rodrigo Duterte ordered him to focus on illegal drugs cases and heinous crimes.
