1,000 wait for chance to attend Duterte inauguration

About 1,000 guests were on the waiting list for the inauguration of incoming President Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday noon.

This was revealed by his Communications Secretary Martin Andanar, who said that nobody from the original list of 637 guests seemed to be backing out.

“Kung wala ng magba-back out mukhang wala ng chance yung nasa waiting list,” he said.

Most of the inaugural guests took their breakfast at the Philippine International Convention Center, from where they would be shuttled to Malacañang.

The guests parked their vehicles at the PICC because of the limited parking space in Malacañang.

As of 9 a.m., seven buses bound for Duterte’s inauguration in Malacañang had left the PICC.

About 10 to 15 buses were hired to transport the guests.
