As heralded by President-elect and outgoing Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, no one is above the law in Davao City—not even his politician-son.

Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte was caught overspeeding on Friday morning in Bangkal, Davao City.

In his Facebook Page, the younger Duterte posted a Temporary Operator’s Permit (TOP) from the Land Transportation Office (LTO) after exceeding the maximum speed limit in the city.

He said he was speeding at 57 kph, or above the maximum speed limit of 40 kph.

The vice mayor explained he was in a hurry to go home because his wife was already angry.

He said it was his first time to be apprehended.

His sister, incoming Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, was also apprehended for overspeeding in 2014 along Quimpo Boulevard.

In 2013, Mayor Rodrigo Duterte issued Executive Order No. 39, which “orders setting the speed limit for all kinds of motor vehicles within the territorial jurisdiction of Davao City.”

Section 4 of the said order states that “violators shall, if warranted, be subjected to arrest and their vehicle impounded without prejudice to the imposition of penalties and fines under the provisions of R.A. No.4136 and Davao City Ordinance No. 778, if applicable.” IDL/rga
