A magnitude 2.6 earthquake hit the province of Nueva Vizcaya on Friday morning, state seismologists said.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the quake, which was tectonic in origin, was recorded at 8:14 a.m.
The quake had a depth of one kilometer.
Phivolcs said it was an aftershock of an earlier magnitude 5 quake recorded at 3:54 a.m. that jolted Nueva Vizcaya and Quirino provinces. The tectonic quake was recorded near Ambaguio, Nueva Vizcaya.
The earlier quake was measured at Intensity 4 in the Quirino towns of Maddela and Aglipay, and Intensity 3 in Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya, and in Baguio City.
“We felt it but it was brief and we have no reported casualties,” said Bayombong town resident Jay Tallungan.
