CEBU CITY, Philippines — The chief of the Tuburan Municipal Police Station in northern Cebu was found dead inside his office at around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 4.
Lt. Col. Glenn Hife was reportedly not feeling well and complained of body pains before his death, prompting him to go inside his office to rest.
When colleagues went inside his office moments later, he was found unresponsive.
Members of the Scene of the Crime Operatives are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of Hife.

The Cebu Police Provincial Office (CPPO) highlighted Hife’s accomplishments, including numerous successful operations against crime and illegal activities while fostering stronger ties between the police and the community.
“We mourn the loss of an exceptional officer who dedicated his life to service,” Col. Jovito Atanacio, CPPO officer in charge, said.
The CPPO extends its condolences to Hife’s family and loved ones, pledging to honor his memory by upholding the values he stood for.
“His legacy of bravery and commitment will inspire us to continue his mission,” Atanacio said.
