Gibo officially turns down Duterte’s offer
DAVAO CITY, Philippines—Former Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro has officially turned down President-elect Rodrigo Duterte’s offer for him to be part of his Cabinet.
“I really came here to just thank President Duterte for considering me,” Teodoro told reporters on Thursday night after meeting up with the incoming president.
Duterte earlier announced that he wanted Teodoro to be his defense secretary.

On Monday, when Duterte named some of his Cabinet members, he named retired General Delfin Lorenzana, former commander of Scout Rangers, as his DND secretary.
Teodoro served as defense secretary during the administration of detained president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. TVJ
