ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Liberal Party standard-bearer Mar Roxas was mobbed by his fellow Capiznons as he went to a school here to cast his vote on Monday.

Roxas, his wife Korina and his team had a hard time entering the Rufina Andrada Memorial School at Barangay Poblacion V in Roxas City as supporters tried to  greet and shake hands with their provincemate.

Outside the precinct were supporters trying to get a glimpse of Roxas. A woman said in the vernacular, “‘Yan ang presidente ko (That’s my President)!”

After voting, Roxas took questions from the media. Asked if he was confident about the results of the election, the administration candidate answered in the affirmative.

From the airport earlier, Roxas, Korina, his son Paolo and mother Judy Araneta, all wearing yellow, made a stop in an eatery at Teodoro Arcenas Trade Center, a short drive away from the precinct.

They had “utan” (vegetable soup) and “tinola” (fish soup) for breakfast. Roxas also asked his staff and the media to join them. CDG/rga
