BACOLOD CITY, Philippines—Three persons were hurt on Wednesday morning when a tornado swept through Barangay (village) Magballo in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.
Dr. Ernell Tumimbang, acting chief of Provincial Social Welfare Development Office, said 12 houses were toppled while 70 others were damaged when the tornado struck at 10:35 a.m.
Two elementary school classrooms, a school toilet and chapel were also damaged, he said.
