Liberal Party vice presidential bet Leni Robredo expressed alarm over the rise of Senator Bongbong Marcos in preference surveys, saying this means that voters have no problem with public officials with unsettled corruption issues.
“Syempre worried tayo. Kahit hindi siya ang pinakamataas, kahit fourth or fifth place lang, worried pa rin tayo,” said Robredo in an ambush interview after the lone vice presidential debate sanctioned by the Commission on Elections on Sunday.
“(Worried tayo) na maraming naniniwala na karapat dapat siyang mahalal bilang public official na hindi pa pinagbabayaran kasalanan in the past,” she said.

Robredo has been critical of Marcos, who refuses to apologize for the martial law abuses and the accumulation of ill-gotten wealth by his father, the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos and his cronies while he was in power for two decades.
In the latest Social Weather Stations survey, the senator is now the poll frontrunner with 26 percentage points.
Trailing behind him is Senator Francis Escudero who got 21 percent while Robredo remains at third place with 19 percent.
Following Robredo are Senators Alan Peter Cayetano, who got 13 percent and Gringo Honasan and Antonio Trillanes IV with both 5 percent.
