Police blocks 300 farmers from getting rice in Kidapawan

New group of protesters numbering to at least 300 arrive at Spotswood Methodist Center in Kidapawan City on Sunday noon to show support to their fellow farmers following the April 1 bloody dispersal that resulted to the death of 3 innocent persons and hurt more than 100 both from the police and the protesters’ side. KIDAPAWAN CITY — Tension again rose here as police blocked some 300 farmers from Makilala town on Sunday noon.

The farmers, who are from nearby Makilala town, wanted to get their share of rice.

At least 260 sacks of rice arrived at the Methodist compound on Saturday. These were donated by actor Robin Padilla and residents of Davao City. JE
