Instead of parties, Duterte celebrates birthday at ‘home, sleeping’

DAVAO CITY – There are no parties for presidential aspirant Rodrigo Duterte who celebrates his 71st birthday on Monday.

Christopher Go, Duterte’s executive assistant and sortie manager, said Duterte spent his day at home.

“There is no party and that has always been his way of celebrating his birthday,” Go said.

“Today, he is at home, resting,” he added.

He said Duterte got his much-needed rest and is preparing for the battle ahead, with the campaign period closely approaching its final stretch.

Duterte, in a recent interview, told journalists he would spend his birthday sleeping.

“I will just be at home, sleeping. That has always been my celebration,” he said.
