Javier reinstated as Antique governor
ILOILO CITY—Antique Gov. Exequiel Javier was reinstalled to his post on Monday morning.
Anthony Nuyda, Western Visayas director of the Department of Interior and Local Government, said Javier assumed his post at 10:20 a.m. at the provincial capitol in the capital town of San Jose in Antique.
Nuyda served the writ of execution issued by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) en banc to reinstate Javier to his post.
The writ is in relation to the Jan. 12 ruling of the Supreme Court upholding Javier’s proclamation in the 2013 elections and nullifying a Comelec order disqualifying him for an election offense.
Vice Gov. Rhodora Cadiao, who served as governor from Feb. 3, 2015, was not present at the capitol, according to Nuyda. JE
