Poe vows to be a ‘roving’ president: I don’t need a palace

BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental—Sen. Grace Poe does not need a palace but a simple office in every region if she gets elected president.

Poe made this promise during the Partido Galing at Puso’s rally here on Friday night.

“Mga kababayan, kung ako ang magiging Pangulo, hindi ako mapapako sa Malacañang lamang. Ang isang pangulo ay dapat naglilibot sa buong Pilipinas,” she said in her speech.

“Hindi ko kailangan ng isang palasyo sa buong Pilipinas. Ang kailangan ko lamang ay ito, simpleng opisina sa bawat rehiyon ng Pilipinas para palagi nyo akong makikita,” she said.

Poe reiterated that she would take her oath in Visayas, particularly in Iloilo, her known birthplace, if she won.

“At tandaan nyo , pag ako nanalo lahat tututok sa Visayas. Bakit? Dahil dito ako manunumpa sa Negros, sa Iloilo, dahil gusto kong malaman ng lahat na ako ay kasama nyo, na ako ay kababayan nyo, na magagaling ang mga taga-Visayas,” she said, drawing cheers from the crowd.

Poe was found as a baby at Jaro Church in Iloilo in 1968.

She was later adopted by movie actors Susan Roces and the late action king Fernando Poe Jr. RC
