Showing progress in the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey, Liberal Party standard-bearer Mar Roxas said on Monday he believes that on May 9, the people would entrust their votes to him and the rest of the “Daang Matuwid” coalition candidates.
Alam nila kung ano ang nangyari itong nakaraang limang taon, at nananalig ako, nananalig ang pangkat Daang Matuwid, na sa dulo, ibibigay nila ang kanilang tiwala sa akin,” Roxas said in an ambush interview during a sortie of the administration bets in Pangasinan.
Roxas made the statement when sought for a reaction on his current standing in the most recent SWS presidential survey. Although placing third in the survey, Roxas gained four points from his previous ranking with 18 percent to 22 percent.

Still leading in the survey was Senator Grace Poe with 27 percentage points followed by Vice President Jejomar Binay, who suffered a five-point dip in his rating from 29 percent last December to 24 percent.
Roxas, meanwhile, overtook Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte whose rating also dipped by four points. Duterte is at the fourth place with 21 percent while Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago remained at the bottom with four percent.
The survey was conducted last March 5 to 7 before the first presidential debate was held in Cagayan de Oro on February 21.
Asked to comment on him racing ahead of Duterte in the surveys, Roxas said: “Alam mo, hindi naman to basketball game eh.

Now that it’s campaign season, Roxas said there are many candidates who would give false promises to the people to get votes.
But the former Interior secretary said he trusts Filipino voters that they would be wise in choosing the next president to lead the country.
Lahat ng pangako, lupa hanggang langit, ay madidinig nila,” he said.
