Suspected drug pusher killed in Bohol buy-bust
TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol—An alleged drug pusher was killed while another managed to escape during a buy-bust operation on Friday night on EB Aumentado Street, in Cogon District, Tagbilaran City, Bohol.
The police identified the fatality as Leoncio Florensos, 38, who used to be the runner of suspected drug lord former policeman Owen Rosales, who was killed in a shootout in 2014.
Melbert Pulguerinas, who was subject of the buy bust by the Tagbilaran police, managed to escape, said Supt. George Acol Vale.
Vale, chief of Tagbilaran police, said a team of policemen conducted the buy-bust operation on Pulguerinas, an allegedly notorious drug pusher in the city, about 8 p.m. on Friday.
Pulguerinas was about to hand in a pack of shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) to an undercover policeman near his house on EB Aumentado Street when he noticed that it was a police sting.
He immediately ran away and went inside his house.
When the policemen tried to chase him, they were met by Florensos who fired at them.
The police shot and killed Florensos on the spot.
Pulguerinas, on the other hand, managed to flee.
But the raiding team was able to recover 17 small packs of suspected shabu, three pieces of aluminum foil, two 9mm caliber pistols with two cartridges and a .45 Colt caliber pistol. IDL
