LUCENA CITY – A couple died while their companion was hurt when their motorcycle collided with a Metro Manila-bound passenger bus along the Maharlika Highway in Candelaria town in Quezon province early Saturday, police said.

The victims–Henry Paz Penaflorida; his wife, Emelda; and their companion, John Paul Camara–were aboard a Suzuki motorcycle in Barangay Bukal when an oncoming Alps Bus, driven by Sony Boy Dapar, hit them at past 3 a.m., said Supt. Freddie Dantes, Candelaria police director, in a telephone interview.
Police said Camara was taken by policemen to the Peter Paul Hospital in Candelaria town center.

Dantes said the three victims were not wearing crash helmets. CDG
