PDEA seizes 60 kilos of marijuana in Pampanga buy-bust
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Anti-narcotics agents seized 60 kilograms of marijuana, valued at P6 million, in a buy-bust operation in Barangay (village) San Agustin here on Thursday.
Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in the Pampanga capital also arrested three men, for possessing illegal drugs: Menelao Flores, 40; Israel Flores, 32; and Carlu Quiambao, 37.
Gladys Rosales, PDEA director in Central Luzon, said the suspects are residents of Baliuag town in Bulacan province.
PDEA agents said the suspects were carrying 33 bricks of marijuana and a bundle of marijuana stalk, making the case the largest seizure of marijuana in Pampanga to date.
The suspects are detained at the regional police headquarters in Camp Olivas here and have been charged for violating Section 5 (selling of dangerous drugs) and Section 11 (possession of dangerous drugs) of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2012. CDG
