Binay attributes smuggling to indecisive, inefficient leadership
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Philippines—Vice President Jejomar Binay on Sunday attributed the problem of smuggling to an indecisive and inefficient leader.
Binay made such claim during the presidential debate when asked to rebut about Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte’s statement about smuggling.
If elected president, he vowed to be a more efficient leader who would hit the ground running.
“Yung problema ng smuggling, nakikita ninyo sa lider. Nagsisimula ang problema kasi ang leader na hindi decisive. Bakit hindi masolusyunan, kasi hindi marunong mamuno,” Binay said.
(The problem of smuggling can be traced to the leader. The problem starts because the leader is indecisive. Why can’t it be solved? It’s because (the president) can’t lead efficiently.)

(The crime rate (in Makati) is low… because I am a decisive leader. I hit the ground running, I face the problem.)
He cited the power shortage in Mindanao because of ineffective leadership.
“May problema dito sa Mindanao sa kuryente dahil wala eh, indecisive, ineffective (ang leadership), walang aksyon. May problema, hindi nasosolusyunan,” Binay said.
(There is a problem of electricity here in Mindanao because of indecisive and ineffective leadership, there is no action. There is a problem yet it cannot be solved.) RAM
