Binay wants Honasan as crime czar
NASUGBU, Batangas—Sen. Gregorio “Gringo” Honasan will be the country’s crime czar if he wins as vice president, according to United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) standard-bearer Jejomar Binay.
The Vice President Binay made the announcement about his running mate on Friday during his rally at this town on the fourth day of the national elections campaign.
“Si Gringo Honasan ang crime czar. Siya ang sasagot sa problema sa katahimikan,” Binay said in his speech before residents of Barangay Wawa.
During the Kapihan sa Senado forum on Thursday, Honasan said Binay had offered him a position of crime czar if both of them won the country’s top two positions.
Binay is trying his luck in his hometown province, where his father is a native of the municipality of Bauan.
