OLONGAPO CITY- A vintage artillery bomb was dug up at a residential area in Barangay (village) New Cabalan here on Wednesday, police said.

The bomb, which measures 100 millimeters in diameter and 1.7 feet in length, was unearthed at a construction site of a private lot at 10:30 a.m., said Insp. Vivianne Reyes, deputy station commander of police station 6 here.

Reyes said personnel of the Explosive Ordnance Division of the city police office recovered the old weapon.

“The bomb, although old, could still explode if not properly handled,” Reyes said.
