Leader of paramilitary group in Lianga lumad killings surrenders
PROSPERIDAD, Agusan del Sur – The controversial leader of a lumad paramilitary group tagged in the September 1 killing of a school director and two other lumad leaders in Lianga, Surigao del Sur has yielded to the police on Thursday.
Calpit Egua’s surrender was confirmed by police sources.

Egua, the leader of the Magahat Bagani force in Agusan and Surigao areas, allegedly led the attack in Barangay Diatagon in Lianga, which killed Alternative Learning Center for Agriculture and Livelihood Development (Alcadev) school director of the Emerito Samarca, and tribal leaders Dionel Campos and Datu Jovello Sinzo.
The other Magahat Bagani leaders, who were reportedly involved in the attack, were Marcos Bocales and Marcial Belandres. CDG
