Aquino appoints new COA commissioner in place of Mendoza

President Benigno Aquino III has appointed lawyer Isabel Dasalla-Agito as an ad interim Commissioner of the Commission on Audit (COA), Malacañang has confirmed.

A Radyo Inquirer 990AM report quoted Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa, saying Agito would fill the position vacated by Commissioner Heidi Mendoza.

Agito has served as the senior external auditor of the United Nation Board of Auditors and was a resident auditor of various government agencies.

In October 2015, Mendoza was appointed as the head of the Internal Oversight Office of the United Nations in New York for a five-year non-renewable term.
