Iligan City suffers power outage due to insulator failure
ILIGAN CITY—A four-hour power outage hit the city on Saturday due to an insulator failure at the Kiwalan portion of the 69-kilovolt line of the Iligan Light and Power Inc. (ILPI), officials said.
Elizabeth Ladaga, corporate communications officer of the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP), told the Inquirer that NGCP and ILPI linemen found the problem around 10 a.m.—about four hours after the massive power interruption that hit the city starting 6:15 a.m.—and immediately worked on it.
An ILPI official said some 55,000 consumers were affected by the power outage. RAM
