Binay to Filipinos: Thank you for staying with me

Despite the political mudslinging thrown his way, Vice President Jejomar Binay on Tuesday thanked the Filipino people for staying with him.

Binay issued the statement after he regained his lead in the latest Pulse Asia survey on who would succeed President Benigno Aquino III in 2016.

The Vice President said surveys were “snapshots of our people’s sentiment” but the real survey would be on Election Day in May.

The embattled leader had been hopping from town to town, seemingly in full campaign mode, in an attempt to gauge public perception following the explosion of corruption and unexplained wealth allegations against him.

He admitted that the accusations would continue until 2016. “Matagal pa ito at inaasahan ko na gagawin nila ang lahat para siraan uli ang aking pangalan at pagkatao,” he said.

He urged his fellow candidates to stop mudslinging and instead unite in helping uplift the lives of the Filipinos.

He promised to continue to deliver better public service to the Filipino people.

RC
