At least 20 alleged NPA rebels torch heavy equipment, trucks in Iloilo

ILOILO CITY—At least 20 suspected communist rebels torched seven heavy equipment and three trucks inside the compound of a mini hydropower plant in the mountain village of Igbaras town in Iloilo past 8 p.m. on Sunday.

Police reports said alleged members of the New People’s Army entered the construction site of Century Peak Mini Hydro Power Plant in Barangay (village) Igcabugao and burned three backhoes, four dump trucks, one sino dump truck and two military trucks.

No one was reported hurt.

The area is located on the mountain barangay of Igbaras some 30 kilometers away from the town proper. RAM
