Poe laments Aquino’s ‘leniency,’ transport execs’ ‘insensitivity’
President Benigno Aquino III may be a good and honest man, but he is too forgiving when it comes to his friends, Senator Grace Poe said on Tuesday.
Poe made this remark a day after she called for Secretary Joseph Abaya’s resignation, saying “we deserve a better DOTC (Department of Transportation and Communications) secretary.”

“Ang ating Pangulo mabait, tapat pero sa tingin ko pagdating sa mga kaibigan n’ya masyado siyang mapag pasensya,” she said in an interview over DZMM.
(Our president is kind, but I think that, when it comes to his friends, he is too forgiving.)

Poe also laments the lack of compassion of transport officials, who attended Monday’s hearing of the Senate subcommittee on public services, which she chairs, on the perennial problems being experienced by the MRT-riding public.

“Ang kulang talaga sa kanila, sa tingin kong kulang na ingredient or panlasa sa kanila ay compassion na kasi parang pag kausap mo parang mga robot lang,” she said.
(What they lack is compassion, because if you talk to them, it’s as if you are talking to robots.)
“Nararamdaman ko wala silang masyadong pakiramdam kaya ‘yun nga ang problema, kulang sila sa compassion, kulang sila sa malasakit.”
(I feel that they are quite insensitive; that’s the problem, they lack compassion and empathy.)
Poe said the DOTC has indeed become a liability now for the Aquino administration. IDL
