An official who is an alley cat

/ 06:33 AM November 07, 2015

A top government official doesn’t care so much about his job as he cares about sex.

He is said to be insatiable, and his subordinates satisfy his cravings by procuring prostitutes for him.

Who is this official?

Let’s forget about Sen. Grace Poe being a foundling, which is one of the reasons why some say she should be disqualified from running for the presidency.

So what if her parents’ citizenship is unknown? Is that her fault?

But the main issue for her disqualification is the fact that she once renounced her Philippine citizenship and then reacquired it for convenience since earlier, she was eyeing a run for the Senate.

She’s like a wife who abandons her husband for another man and then when the relationship with the lover goes sour, goes back to her husband who willingly takes her back.

A person with no loyalty should be distrusted.

Jose Angel Honrado, general manager of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia), denies the existence of a syndicate which preys on airline passengers, particularly the elderly and overseas contract workers, at the country’s premier airport. Since Honrado denies there is a syndicate, could he be part of it?

This guy is so thick-skinned he refuses to resign despite a public clamor for his head as a result of the bullet “planting” incidents at Naia.

And could it also be that one big reason he doesn’t want to resign despite the tremendous pressures that go with the job—he has undergone heart bypass surgery because of the pressure—is because of a monthly P1-million intelligence fund for his office.

An intelligence fund is not subject to audit.

Despite the negative reactions attached to cigarettes and liquor—that’s why they’re called “sin” products—the government’s earnings from these products are increasing yearly.

In the first two years it was implemented, sin taxes earned an additional P104 billion which funded the country’s universal health care programs, according to the Department of Finance.

In other words, there are more cigarette smokers today than before even if the excise tax has increased the prices of cigarettes and liquor.

Proof of this is the fact that Mighty, a relatively new brand, has captured about 20 percent of the smokers’ market.

Because of the stiff competition between Mighty and Philip Morris or Marlboro, unscrupulous traders are selling fake cigarettes of the three brands.

My sources at the Bureau of Customs say that fake Mighty, Philip Morris and Marlboro cigarettes come from China.

Somehow, the fake cigarettes are smuggled into the country to unfairly compete with the legitimate brands.

Steps should be taken to protect these sin products which earn huge revenues for the government.
