In search for parents: Poe to take another DNA test with new subject
After her DNA tests with two individuals turned out negative, Senator Grace Poe said she will again take another procedure with a new subject—still in her continued search for her parents.
Poe said there was also a suggestion that she should put an advertisement in Iloilo, where she was abandoned in 1968. She was adopted by the late actor Fernando Poe Jr. and veteran actress Susan Roces.
She disclosed these options, a day after disclosing that the DNA sample that she took did not match with two persons, who submitted themselves for testing.

“Marami nga ang nagsa-suggest, merong nagsa-suggest na siguro maglabas na kami ng ads sa Iloilo kung sino ang gustong lumapit… Pero meron pa kaming kailangan na test na gawin pa,” she said.
(A lot of people give suggestions, there are those who suggest that we put ads in Iloilo on whoever wants to approach us… However, we have to undergo another test.)
She said the new test that she would undertake would be with a new potential family member. She refused to give other details, except saying that they were the ones who looked for this person.
Poe, though, reiterated that she was doing this procedure not only to strengthen her defense on the disqualification cases filed against her but for herself as well.

With or without the results of the DNA tests, the senator is confident that she could win the cases against her.
Asked if she was serious in putting an ad in Iloilo to find her parents, Poe said it was just a suggestion but noted that it would be more difficult to find her possible match if the selection would be open to the public.
But what if her parents themselves did not want to be found?
“Marami pong spekulasyon kung bakit. Kaya nga iniiwan din ang isang bata marahil ay hindi nya makakayanan o siguro dahil matagal na yun, 1968, baka naman hindi tanggap sa pamilya nila,” she said, responding to that question.
(There are many speculations why. The reason why a child is left is perhaps he or she cannot bear it or a long time has passed 1968, maybe the child is not wanted in their family.)
“Sabi nila baka nga ayaw talagang magpakilala pero sana naman kung para lamang (sa katotohanan), umaasa pa rin ako,” Poe added.
(Some say that maybe, they do not want to be identified but for the sake of [truth], I am still hoping.) RAM
