It’s the last chance of first time voters to register and old ones to have their biometrics taken.

“Today is the last day of [voters’] registration nationwide. Talagang WALANG FOREVER!” Twitter user @Walkah_Walkah posted on Saturday morning.

Walkah-Walkah is the voter education campaign of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) and just one of its online accounts calling for last-minute registrants.

On the Comelec website, there is a countdown panel that shows that voters, as of posting time, have 5 hours or so left to register for the May 9, 2016 elections.

The local government of Marikina also posted on Twitter its registration schedule.

Earlier this week, Comelec reported that around 3 million voters still do not have biometrics data. This means they won’t be able to vote.

Radyo Inquirer 990AM reported that a large number of people showed up at the Comelec office in Rodriguez, Rizal but only 700 can be accommodated.

To serve the large number of Filipinos who have yet to register or update their voter profiles with biometrics, Comelec has opened satellite offices in 108 malls, as well as other public places such as covered courts and gymnasiums.
