Senator Grace Poe remained unfazed by another disqualification case filed against her, saying she is ready to face all accusations against her.

“Mabuti ng ilabas nila. Inaasahan na namin ito (It’s good that this has come up. We were expecting this),” Poe said in a text message on Monday, reacting to the new case lodged against her by former Senator Franciso “Kit” Tatad at the Commission on Elections.

“Kami naman ay walang tinatago at handang harapin ang mga paratang nila (We are not hiding anything and we are ready to face their accusations),” she further said.

The new case reportedly seeks to bar Poe from seeking public office, saying she was not a natural-born Filipino and that she failed to satisfy the 10-year residency requirement needed to seek the presidency.

But Poe’s lawyer and spokesman, in separate statements earlier, insisted that she has met all the requirements needed to seek the presidency.

“Truth to be told, Sen. Grace has all the qualifications and none of the disqualifications provided for by the Constitution to aspire for the presidency,” Poe’s lawyer, George Garcia, said in a text message.

Her spokesman, Valenzuela Mayor Rex Gatchalian, said Poe is ready to face all these “harassment suits” in the proper forum and is confident that all these would be dismissed “because the law is on her side.”

“The documents will show that she has met all the requirements to seek the presidency which she has already been made public. These documents will answer these suits on all fours and will bear her out,” Gatchalian added.
