Pagasa: Possible cyclone may enter PAR Wednesday

The weather bureau is tracking a low pressure area that has chances of intensifying into a tropical cyclone.
The LPA was located 2,900 kilometers east of Luzon as of Monday morning but is still too far to affect the country, Aldczar Aurelio of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said by phone.
There are chances that it might be a tropical cyclone when it will enter the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) by Wednesday or Thursday.

If it becomes a tropical cyclone, it will be locally named ‘Lando,’ the 12th for this year. The country experiences about 20 cyclones every year.
Pagasa earlier said that at least seven cyclones are still expected before the end of 2015.

The hanging amihan or northeast monsoon, the cool winds associated with Christmas season, is expected around next week, Aurelio said.
Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms will be experienced over the provinces of Ilocos Norte, Cagayan, Isabela, Batanes, Calayan and Babuyan Group of Islands due to a tail-end of a cold front in extreme Northern Luzon, Pagasa said in its bulletin.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms will prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of the country. IDL
