Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chair Francis Tolentino on Wednesday apologized for not stopping the lewd performance of the Playgirls during the oathtaking of Liberal Party (LP) members coinciding the birthday celebration of Laguna 4th District Rep. Benjamin Agarao Jr. in Sta. Cruz, Laguna, last week.
“I am asking for understanding and forgiveness especially from women groups who got hurt because of the incident,” Tolentino told members of the media during the inauguration of a new ferry boat at the Pasig Ferry Guadalupe Station.
He admitted his mistake of not stopping the sexy dance performance of the female group.

“I am asking forgiveness from everyone who got offended by the incident especially to the family of Cong. Agarao and our friends from Laguna. I also apologize to my mother, who also got hurt, to the Liberal Party and Sec. Mar Roxas, whose name was dragged into what happened,” the MMDA chair said.
Tolentino said he was not able to control the performance, which he claimed, “can also be seen every day by millions in television shows.”
“I asked the Liberal Party to remove my name from the list they are considering for their senatorial lineup,” he added.
Tolentino also asked for prayers for his plans in the coming days. The MMDA chair is set to deliver a message before MMDA employees at the agency’s headquarters at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
